Jasper National Park full of fall colours.
Fall colours in Jasper Park Fire in and around the Jasper townsite Wildlife we encounteredPrairie and Rocky Mountain colours in the fall are different than Eastern Canada but have their own beauty. Despite the mostly overcast day, we managed quite a few shots of brilliant yellows and reds.
Forest fires put nutrients back into the soil. As a result, the burned areas now have beautiful green grass, mostly adjacent to the roads. The Elk and Deer are oblivious to passing vehicles as they enjoy this great source of food.
The camera was smokin' as we headed into Jasper National Park. It was very disheartening to see the blackened sticks where once stood a lush green forest. It was also very interesting where the fire skipped around sections of the townsite, and eerie to see the stone fireplaces of the homes and buildings that no longer stand around them. We had lunch in Jasper and I chatted with a one of the residents who was sittng at the next table. They are staying with family that has not lost their home.
