Hockey, hockey, hockey.
There is a nip in the air each morning now and we know what that means.
Our Edmonton Oil Kings hockey season has started and we have seen the boys play four games now (three wins and a loss). It feels good to be back at Rogers Place and all the excitement it brings each game.
It also means we are getting ready to put winter tires on our car. Yes, snow is coming soon.
So - 11 days ago, we were heading out to photograph the forest destruction in the Jasper area, and today we update our local Oil Kings hockey games we are catching with our season tickets. I enjoy the game and have since Regina Caps and then Regina Pats games. It is interesting to watch the games with player's families, such as the van Herks. We get a little insight into what it takes to support the player - financially (those hockey sticks are not cheap and they do break!) and the time and costs of following their son's games. We have seats with a great view of the ice surface and I am looking forward to the rest of the season.
