Wildlife we encountered     [Oct 7, 2024]

Back Home

We save quite a bit of wildlife in Jasper Park today. Lez had fun with the Magpie, the Bighorn Sheep were grazing right beside the highway where they usually are. And the Elk were grazing on the new grass right beside the burn areas.

We had a picnic lunch by the river, and a saucy large Magpie decided to check out the picnic basket the moment I stepped away to view the bridge over the river. A magnificent bird - I didn't have the heart to shoo him away. As I "talked" to him, he gave me the sideways look and did the Magpie hop over to the food. He then non-chalantly hopped away.
