Elk, sheep, and devastation. [Oct 4, 2026]

The roar and vibration at Athabasca Falls. The Bull Elk bugles beside the road. How do those sheep walk on that steep rock. The devastation shows in the burnt trees.

A day in Jasper National Park.

The timing seemed right to take a day to Jasper National Park and see the fall colours. We saw more than the yellow, red and green colours however.

First up were some Bighorn Sheep in their usual spot along the Yellowhead Highway. Then we poked through town and headed over to Fort Hill. Finally, after lunch, we headed down to Athabasca Falls.

A great day in a great park.

The highway to Jasper looked like it was decorated for a parade in all its amazing colours.
