The Bull Elk bugles beside the road. [Oct 4, 2026]

On our way back from Athabasca Falls, we ran across this bull Elk just outside the townsite.

Rutting season is in full swing and this Elk was bellowing regularly. There were several mares around, probably part of his harem.

He had a great rack of antlers. They always look so majestic.

The excitement of seeing this bull Elk led to taking about 100 pictures just trying to get the perfect one. It was fortunate that a couple of pictures caught him bugling.
