A zinger on the windshield.

VIP Motel, Parksville BC

We drove the Coquihalla highway today and it was so relaxing in Tiggy compared to when we drove it pulling the Schooner.

Then it was time to head down highway 17 to the Tsawwassen ferry terminal, the easiest and quickest way to the ferry. This involves a road parallel to the Fraser River south shore, filled entirely in railway shunting yards and heavy industry. Hence, the road is filled with trucks. As we were just passing underneath the Patullo Bridge we had a large stone hit our windshield, probably from the truck in front of us. Wow! It was large enough and fast enough that it put pieces of glass inside onto the dashboard.

Yes, a very big difference without the 5th wheel RV behind.

The sound of the stone and breaking glass was quite a shock. It actually left a hole in the lower left corner of the windshield, but vision has not been compromised. We are very lucky, I think, that we didn't lose the whole windshield.
