We watched the General's home opener.

Worel apartment, Parksville BC

We are helping grandma Worel while Ralph and Simona take a well deserved break to the prairies. Grandma's memory loss and advanced age (she is 91) means we must keep an eye on her constantly.

We managed to take a few hours away and watched the home opener for the Oceanside Generals. This was a bit of a bonus for us because when we last saw them play last March, we did not think we would see them play again. It was nice and very familiar. We were recognized and greeted by several people, including Tara Hannibal, the GM's wife. We lost the game but really enjoyed ourselves.

We have settled into mom's apartment, and using her spare bedroom. This afternoon was very hot and mom and I spent time on her balcony, talking about old times, and new times, as long as we could take the heat. After a supper together, Lee and I headed out to catch an Oceanside General's junior hockey game. Both of us are now anxious to pick up the Edmonton Oil Kings games.
