Lez says - Rock and Roll!
Holiday Inn Express, Regina SK
We started out our day with a visit to Brenda Hicks. No end to conversation as usual as she served us lunch and then sent us on our way with homemade cinnamon buns.
Day 2 of our third Shake the Lake festival in Regina and we heard and saw some great rock and roll. We had seen Nick Gilder before and he did a great job. Sass Jordan has perhaps the most powerful voice in Canadian rock, even stronger than the Headpins former vocalist, Darby Mills.
And then there was George Thorogood and the Destroyers. Wow! A classic rock and roller with amazing guitar skills.
We had a wonderful catch up visit with long-standing friend Brenda Hicks. Our hubbies worked together many years ago, and the moment us two were introduced - we were friends, even though at very different stages in our lives. I was working in the computer world, and Lee and I were living in a nearby high rise and Brenda was home with young children.
Although her hubby Aubrey has passed, we have kept in touch. It was a very special day to be able to spend time with her again.
After the refreshing visit, Lee and I headed to Shake the Lake (Brenda can hear the concert from her place!) and settled into our last evening of good ol' Rock and Roll. Yes, the band members are older now - but stil performing just as they did when we were all MUCH younger.
