Stories around the table.

We had all seven of us around the table tonight for family dinner. Lee thinks the last one was in February 2020.

We were a little rusty with the planning and execution but it turned out great. Lee even got to use the phrase 'Changing the subject ever so slightly' a couple of times.

Our boys and partners and families joined us around the big table tonight. The meat fondue with beef and chicken was prepared in bite size pieces, along with shrimp that was shelled for the spear-holding hungry gang. The food was duly cooked in beef broth boiling in the two fondue pots. A loaf of French bread was sliced to accompany the meal. The "big table" with two inserts gave lots of elbow room for all to reach the pots and the sauces for adding to the cooked meats. Conversation was non-stop as each of us had an opportunity to share how their day or week or month has been going, and what adventures were being planned. Wine, water and pop was served.

The evening brought back memories of the years of a weekend tradition of good food and great family and many special friends. This will no doubt become the Zwaal staple weekend event again.
