We went to church today.

Map - Cache Creek to Williams Lake

Williams Lake Stampede RV Park, Williams Lake BC (2 stars)

Lee notes this was an easy drive up Highway 97 today. Chuck rarely had towork hard to pull the big Schooner along. We were following the Gold Rush Trail. Every so often we would pass one of the old road houses, some of which may have been here for a century or more. They are generally named after the distance north they are on the Gold Rush Trail - 50 Mile House, 100 Mile House, 108 Mile Ranch, etc. When we arrived in Williams Lake we had just passed 150 Mile House.

We decided to have any early dinner and had noticed that there is a Boston Pizza in town. So, a stop there before going to the RV Park. Problem is, there is very little parking around the restaurant to accommodate all 59 feet of us. So, we pulled into a small church parking lot nearby and walked to Bostons Pizza. Lee was hoping that a church parking lot would not be needed on a Sunday afternoon. Visions of coming back to find Chuck and the Schooner surrounded by bible-punching parisioners. It turned out all right.

As we travelled today, we could see the damage the flooded Cache Creek created. Mother Nature can be incredibly forceful.

Roads were relatively quiet as we made our way to Williams Lake, now docked at their Stampede Campgrounds. Weather has cooled off a little, rain showers are threatening. It is VERY dry out here, so the rain would be appreciated. We have not untethered from Chuck, so should we decide to leave in the rain, it will basically be a squeeze in the slides and dash for the truck.

A beautiful sunset ended our safe travels day.
