Winter Wonderland.
Surfside RV Resort, Parksville BC (2 stars)
Lee sighs with relief. He went out first thing and emptied the tanks. They all drained fine, which means the tanks were not frozen. Our Schooner, advertised as an insulated unit when we bought it, has come through -10c without any issues. Lee thanks the stars, noting that there have been a number of water and electricity issues around Surfside. Lee hears that one brand new 'tiny home' has frozen tanks and are ready to move to a hotel. Lez heard a couple angrily shouting at each other as they tried to figure out their electrical issues, presumable constant flipping of breakers.
Meanwhile, we are comfy and safe, and everything works. The only irritant we have is that Hobbes wants to go outside, but once you open the doors he gives us that 'are you kidding' look. Oh well.
Lez Notes: Puttin on the big boots and going on a photo jaunt: Not much for wildlife as we look across the estuary waters. Some ducks are enjoying their hearty food from the estuary shores. Seagulls are not around. They use our roadway to drop their clamshells on to break and then enjoy their meal. However, the clam shells are not being dropped. Today the roads are covered in several inches of snow, which is now packed by all the vehicles, not a spec of tarmac to be found. I'm thinking they know a white road will not crack the shells - as it flew right over the road.
I snuggled in at the table with a quilt around my legs and edited the photos for posting. Yes, it has snowed and is -6C cold, but what is more interesting is that the daily view has been drastically changed and just calls for the click of the camera. It has actually warmed up to -2C, balmy LOL. Enjoy.
The Hobbeservation of the day is - You are not going to find me out there today.
