Coombs capers.

We decided that all of us except Ralph would go to Coombs today to shop at the Coombs Country Market, also known as Goats on the Roof. We'd also stop in the Dutch Store down the highway a bit. Lez went with her mother and the three guys went in their rental.

Well, grandma got lost after getting gas in her car. She and Lez eventually went as far as Bowser before Alec jumped in as the turn-by-turn navigation guy, using a cell phone call to Lez and a google map on his cell. He then directed them over to the rest of us in Coombs. All ended well.

We ended the day with the six of us having supper at grandma's and regaling many stories.

Well that was quite the tour mom gave us along HWY 19A, not planned. Mom gassed up in Parksville at the Co-op and away the two of us went. I made an assumption. By the time I realized that she was not going in the direction we should have been, it was, well, 'interesting' as we were on our way to Port Alberni.

Fortunately, we had cell service and I was able give Alec locations of what towns or cross roads or other signifigant landmarks for him to send 'turn by turn' directions for us to get back to Parksville.
