Surfside RV Resort, Parksville BC (2 stars)

A great day poking around Shelly Park with the boys and then an evening with grandma and Ralph.

The evening was full of stories with our sons contributing the usual humorous ones. Only Aaron can describe the interior of a 1970's era hotel room in such a colourful way. Too funny.

We area nestled in the Surfside RV resort and overlooking the beach walk and the Labyrinth round-about at the end of the beachwalk.

Alec and Aaron are out here staying in Parksville. It was great to guide the boys through Shelly Park where Shelly Creek drains from the base of Little Mountain in Parksville and flows northeast into the Englishman River, approximately 2 km from the Strait of Georgia.

The cameras were smokin' as this may be the last time we are ever here. It was a beautiful sunny just right temperature day to walk through the rain forest and share with the boys, one of our favourite walks.

We later enjoyed a dinner at mom's with Ralph too. Conversation never stopped. We "visited" Mimi in Edmonton via Alec's cell phone.

Back at the RV site, Lee set up the fire bowl behind the Schooner, overlooking the Parksville Beach. We watched the sun setting over the mountains, and talked well into the darkness. I think I will sleep very soundly tonight.
