Welcome back, CJ.
Surfside RV Resort, Parksville BC (2 stars)
Our Oceanside Generals have been without our top player, Carter Johnson, who has been serving a five game suspension. Tonight we played the third game in the play-off series with Comox. But CJ as he is called is back in the fold. Let's have a quick look at the game summary - the Generals won and CJ had three of our four goals.
It was a happy Timmies coffee and timbits drive back from Comox tonight.
I just love the junior level of hockey - upcoming NHL stars, the intensity these young players give, the spontaneous interaction with the fans all make for a great evening of entertainment. We arrive in our "gear" - GRIN - I proudly wear the gifted Van Herk jersey and we sit in with their parents, relatives and friends.
This level of hockey rarely sees any form of fighting, it's all about the game.
The drive back was very dark, with the snow having been already cleared off the highway and was lining the ditches. The roads were thankfully in driveable condition. With a quick stop at Timmie's to clear out their donut holes supply, we arrive safe and sound back in the Schooner. Having devoured the nutritional "fix", we settled in for a good night's sleep.
