Omelette momma.
Surfside RV Resort, Parksville BC (2 stars)
OK, so no U-Haul or or other rental place for a trailer (unless it stays on the island). Well, after a great omelette breakfast, Lee sets in to do some measuring.
He measures up everything in the Schooner that needs to go back to Edmonton. He then does the same in the outside locker, the outside kitchen and the shed. Carefully measured as Lez likes to say, accounting for every portion of a cubic foot. Anal thinking, no. Lee suspects this will be close. Then, careful measuring of Chuck's back seat and the box of the truck. Every nook and cranny where we can cram something in.
Put it all in an Excel workbook sheet and let's see what Mrs. Excel tells us. Holy cow! The amount of stuff and the amount of storage space in Chuck come out to within one cubic foot of each other!
I guess we we will stuff Chuck full of all our possessions in a few weeks and drive home without a trailer. To quote Lez - Just you and me and a truck named Chuck.
This cold morning has called for a hearty, "clear the larder" omelette. The sun will have a hard time shining light or warmth on us today. Those clouds are low. That's ok, the plan for the day is to start packing up the RV items that will return to Edmonton with us. BUT keeping out things needed to still make meals, eat, sleep, et al. That will help clear the floor that will be re-planked to remove various signs of wear and tear. We will be using the social media forums to share and encourage the sale of the RV and possibly items not nailed down in the RV. Our journey is not over yet!
