Schooner maintenance
Surfside RV Resort, Parksville BC (2 stars)
We had our neighbours, the Atkinsons, worried today. Lee removed the Schooner stabilizer stands and hooked Chuck up to the Schooner. We could almost have driven away at that point.
But no, Lee had to get the Schooner off its front stabilizers in order to replace the stabilizer pins, one of which had broken in the infamous Meziadin Junction off-road adventure. The best way to hold up the front of the Schooner was simply to have Chuck hold it up. The repairs were completed in short order.
A grey day - clouds cover the land across the Salish Sea. There is not a whisper of wind, but it is still cool outside. Lee is working on RV maintenance in that cool weather. I'm sure a hot shower will be appreciated and not because he's dirty.
You see, in the spring we are hoping to sell the RV out here. Time to perk up, not just clean and fix. Summer will be time to bring our wandering to a close and settle back closer to the kids.
Over the ownership of the RV we have replaced the lino flooring with wood laminate flooring, very durable. We have painted the walls with an offwhite washable finish. Lined curtains have been made to replace all the flimsy blinds except for the kitchen window. The various meal prep and splashes wipe off those blinds.
The two big reclining rockers in the unit went to Good Will a long time ago, and Lee has a desk in their space, which we bought here. We brought from the house, one of our laminated particle board tables that fit nicely at the back of the RV. What a view I enjoy! Lots of room for quilt making, puzzle making, laptop and catch all.
The big screen TV is a bonus - and we do watch a lot of movies and series in the evenings.
I love the gas stove and oven! An efficient fridge and freezer that doesn't take much to defrost and gets filled with lots of goodies. We don't need a huge deep freezer LOL - there is only two of us to feed.
