Teetering on the Schooner roof.

Surfside RV Resort, Parksville BC (2 stars)

Our day started with a drive into Nanaimo for a QOVC presentation and some shopping. Wonderful Lebanese hummus and pita strips.

We got back into Schooner make-ready mode this afternoon. Lee opened up the three vents on the roof and cleaned out the various bits while Lez washed the Fantastic vent covers and screens. Then Lez took the special cleaner and removed the asphalt spots on the front of the Schooner. We were both pooped after that and brought in a pizza while Lez met with her Macarena friends via Zoom. The weather was absolutely fantastic today.

Lez summarizes: Sore muscles and tired bones! But the results make it worthwhile.

However, a bit of a back track is needed! We started our day with a jaunt into Nanaimo this morning! Nicole Ker, a Canadian army veteran received a Quilt of Valour. She served 11 years in the forces. She had her 19th birthday in Afghanistan. She was nominated for the quilt of comfort by a fellow veteran, and I was asked to make the quilt presentation at her home.

We did some shopping chores after that and headed home for a Subway sub at the picnic table. Enough dilly-dallying - the Schooner needed attention and the weather perfect for the outdoor scrubbing we got done. What a treat - neither of us wanted to cook dinner, and I had the Ladies night Zoom with the dearest and long-term friends from "the old neighbourhood". Thankfully and mucho appreciated, Lee ordered and picked up enough pizza for two days!
