Trying to lighten the load.

We plan to take as much scannable family history material with us as possible and get that all done over the winter in Parksville. Well, there's a lot of stuff and it consumes the entire back seat of Chuck almost to the roof. We have to be a little selective.

So, Lez spent most of the day combing through a few boxes, throwing out obvious stuff and removing photos from heavy photo albums. We are making progress.

Muscles I didn't know I had are hurting tonight. We spent the day culling through our photo and documents memorabilia. I stood at the end of the tailgate, opening and emptying and either tossing away or moving photos to another box. Sorting in a loose fashion for now.

Oh WOW what a walk through time. We did throw away a lot of paperwork that was so very important at the time it was procured. There were a lot of reminders and photos of events - weddings, Champ Car, working on the VW's in the Zwaal family back yard. VW promotional material from the old Regina VW dealership. Our businesses we incorporated and ran and then closed down. We emptied several hard cover binders that take up so much space and weight! We will spend wet, windy winter days, scanning the best pics, the ones that will make up the Zwaal story as far back as our high school days when we met. The website will no doubt generate conversational evenings.
