So, for the 48th time, I saw Streetheart in concert tonight. Jeff gave me the nod and pointed to the sky, thinking of Lez.
They put on a killer show. I was surrounded by Streetheart fans in front of the stage. One of them was taking video on their phone. She volunteered to send them to me, very nice of her.
Sometimes a band just hit a perfect groove with a song when playing live. All the songs sound great, but then one is just very special. And for Streetheart fans, well, we know when that happens. And it happened tonight with 'Miss Plaza Suite'. Absolutely perfect and the band knew it.
Brent Fitz pulled a double header again tonight. After drumming for Streetheart, he jumped right back on the kit to drum for Toque.
Toque are the most forward facing, Canadian focused band around. They play only Canadian songs, including a couple of their own. They closed their set by leading the whole crowd in a vocals-only version of Oh Canada. Very emotional and very wonderful.
