Tornado alert.

South Katepwa RV Park (2 stars)

Woke up to clear skies and warm weather. Had a visit from Piet and Marg, who stayed for lunch. As the afternoon passed, we received a tornado alert on our cell phones. We watched the internet for the next couple of hours as the storm came and went. Unremarkable as they say. We made a great salmon supper and settled in for the night.

Lez breathes a sigh of relief: A tornado! What do we do. Just when you think you have thought of every possible RV situation!

Today, lazy morning. Piet and Marg came over in the morning to look at our RV. Had lunch and enjoyed the patio until darker weather appeared and sprinkles shooed us inside. They headed back to their site and we sat down to catch up on emails etc. Suddenly our phones blared the alert sign, a tornado warning! One can plan for all kinds of things, but this one was a true 'what do we do'. We followed the Accu weather radar, and compared to what was actually happening. Our issues was we are in a valley! We cannot see miles and miles like you can on the prairie to see anything coming! The campsite is not oriented N-S or E-W, other than assuming the wind direction was the direction the storm or tornado might come! We basically put away all the outside stuff, closed windows and watched the computer. I figured if one was sighted, there would be info. What else could we do.

Well, no tornado, thank goodness! Thankful nothing came of it.
