Ditching this popsicle stand.
Holiday Inn Express, Kamloops BC
Out of bed before 6 am so we can catch the 8:25 ferry. And guess what, no hot water in the hotel. We dressed, packed, had a bite at McDonalds down the street and headed for Departure Bay in Nanaimo. The ferry crossing was gloomy and uneventful.
At 10:05 we landed at Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal and started our mainland journey for home. The car was only turned off briefly in Chilliwack and otherwise drove right through to Kamloops.
The snow was falling on the Coquihalla Highway but luckily it was very quiet, with more trucks than cars, it seemed.
Hey, it's getting cold! Well, for the two of us who haven't experienced a winter in five years it feels cold. We went on an adventure (no navigation, dark out, snowing) to get a pizza. After some wrong turns, we got what we ordered and returned to the hotel to settle (and eat) in.
What a shock it is to step into a cold shower. Miss our apartment LOL more and more. We are ready to go home. We are happy at having seen all those folks we hoped to connect with. Now we are looking forward to catching up with the boys, our friends and our own bed.
