Hunkered in for the storm.
Feng BW Hotel, Parksville BC
Mom Worel is still in the hospital. We went out to do some errands and for Lez to hook up with an old friend, Chris, for coffee.
We hunkered into the hotel for the day, awaiting what the meteorologists call a bomb cyclone or bombogenesis. It is a storm (low pressure area) that undergoes rapid strengthening over a 24-hour period. The vast majority of such storms occur over the ocean. The storm can be tropical or non-tropical in nature. In this case, it is off the west coast of Vancouver Island. They are predicting lots of rain and wind gusts over 100 kph.
As always, a coffee visit with Chris is a non-stop chatter as we catch up on our goings on. We are both quilters, and have enjoyed our times together at quilting retreats. I am hoping we will both be able to catch the retreat again.
We are keeping an eye on the weather, and glad we did our oceanside visits yesterday.
