Bobbing in the Salish Sea.
Feng BW Hotel, Parksville BC
The drive from Hope to the ferry terminal was a constant rain storm.
We caught the 1 pm ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo. The seas seemed to get rougher the further out we sailed into the Salish Sea. The staff even came on the intercom advising of the rolling our vessl was doing. Once we got close to the Vancouver Island shore, the waves calmed down a bit.
No further excitement on the short drive to Parksville. We picked up some supper and settled into the motel for the night, and probably for the next seven nights as we visit family and friends in the area.
We bobbed and bounced our way across the Salish Sea today, darn good thing neither of us deals with getting sea-sick. Our Tigster, the VW Tiguan was the comfortable drive to get us through the roadways. Looking forward to connecting with family and friends. Also hoping those grey skies will split and give us some sunshine. Now enjoying a "cuppa Joe" LOL, a regular evening cup of coffee - that does not hinder our sleep.
