It was just the light switch.

Lee grumbles that his old back usually complains at the wrong time. This morning it was as he simply leaned over to switch on a light. Small jab in the lower back followed in a few minutes by most of the lower back being in pain.
We tried to head over to the ss Klondike sternwheeler today but the pain was too much and we headed back to the Schooner.
Nothing to do but rest and wait. Yuk.
We ended up spending a quiet, lazy day in the Schooner - curtains drawn so the sun wasn't beating inside, but windows open to allow a breeze through. I'm on the computer - catching up with various Facebook friends, looking at other places we can sightsee and scanning, cleaning up and naming the photos we have taken.
It is very hard to understand the life our fore-fathers led as they worked the mines, ships, barges and more in the Klondike. Interesting, but not surprising that the winter months arrived with very few people left in the region. On our 30C day, it was also hard to imagine the clothing worn by the women in the Klondike days - the long dresses and petticoats must have left everyone with a heat rash!
I was hot and sweaty in in shorts and a skimpy top. Smart thinking though, a very flimsy long sleeved blouse kept the sun from burning skin without any sun screen.
Evenings cool off - but certainly not cold.
