A Van Herk night.

Lee is surprised when the Van Herk clan presents Lez with a Van Herk crested jersey #3 before the game. That is so thoughtful and wonderful. Lez puts it on right away to help support the team in the upcoming game.

Not that support was needed, but the game was in doubt for a while, especially after the Bombers took a 1-0 lead. But wouldn't you know it, Brady Van Herk scores on a great individual effort short-handed and the game seemed to slowly turn around. Before you know it, two more goals and the Generals win 3-1 and take a 3-0 lead in the series.

We take photos with Brady after the game. Just such a nice way to end a great win. Lez will sport a new jersey for the rest of the play-offs.

The small quilt top is done using flannel from the "stash". Now to search in my fabric stash for an appropriate backing. We pulled one of the large totes of fabric out of the "basement" (just as it started to rain) so I could access the fabrics to back the quilt started on Friday.

Tonight we were off to the Oceanside Generals 3rd game in the playoff series, this time closer to home at the Oceanside Place Arena, Howie Meeker rink Parksville.

What a surprise! Brady presented me with a crested Generals Jersey with his number and name on it. What a wonderful gift! I will retire my Laine Bauer jersey while we are in Oceanside Generals territory - and sport (and promote) van Herk! What an honour.

A great game with the Gens winning 3-1.
