Road trip to Port Alberni.

We combined a shopping trip with a Generals road game to drive out to Port Alberni. It's only about 35 minutes but once there we are actually on water that comes in from the Pacific Ocean.

We were surprised by the significant difference in grocery prices there compared to Parksville. The Port Alberni store was on average 30% less than the Parksville Thrifty's store.

The Generals continued their amazing run, winning their 17th game in a row. All in all, a nice road trip for us also.

Road trip! It is time to replenish the larder so we decided to adventure to the big box grocers on our way to the Generals hockey game in Port Alberni. Keeping in mind not to purchase anything frozen, we did well taking advantage of the cold weather and the fridge-like temperatures on an overcast day that kept the truck cold. Bonus - grocery prices are much better too.

We sat with Brady van Herk's dad at the Generals game at the Port Alberni rink and enjoyed the 5-2 win over the Alberni Bombers.
