Laughter in the club house.

Surfside RV Resort, Parksville BC (2 stars)

Tonight was Surfside RV Resort's Christmas dinner and party. And it was. The laughter was racous and the meal was great.

Lee notes that he has not met many of the 100 people in attendance face to face or spoken to them in the past three years. But, he does recognize them by their vehicles and their dogs. The road past our Schooner is the one and only road to about 250 sites closer to the Salish Sea. So, they drive by regularly. And the ones with dogs walk by regularly to exercise their pets on the Parksville Boardwalk.

A quiet birthday for Lee today, but lots of greetings came his way. I grabbed the mic before we began the Christmas dinner carole singing and suggested we warm our voices with a familiar song - Happy Birthday to Lee. We got to meet and chat with a few more people in the resort, enjoyed a turkey dinner with all the trimmings. We brought our own beverages, plates, cutlery and coffee mugs. It is somewhat quieter in the resort this winter as those who enjoy the Arizona-California winters have been able to head away this year.

We were a full house though and consider this winter is quite bearable +8C's considering our boys are dealing with -20C's before windchill.
