We sprung Ralph out of the hospital.
Surfside RV Resort, Parksville BC (2 stars)
Mom and Lee went to White Rock today to pick up Ralph, who was being discharged. It was touch and go with, in no particular order, catching a return ferry, getting the pharmacy to fill his presciptions and some meds to tide him over between White Rock and Parksville. But we made it and were back by 6:00 pm.
Lee joined Lez for some appies and wine at the Holden site with Atkinsons also there. We have a great set of neighbours here and will miss them when we leave in a week. We won't miss the rain though.
Lez's wondering what is that golden orb in the sky, and notices there is no wind. The waterways - estuary and Parksville Bay were totally still, with some spectacular calm and reflective photos to share.
I then spent a great portion of the middle of the day making cheese filled Phyllo pastry triangles. The kitchen was a busy space today. I took a plate of triangles over to the Holdens who had invited us to appy hour. We spent quite a few hours nibbling, talking and laughing with Holdens (our RV site hosts) and the Atkinsons, as Lee joined us when he got back from his trip to spring my brother. Hobbes missed dad, and it seemed he was looking for him when he went outside.
This was one of the very few sunny days we have seen lately. I'm still hoping to have more and be able to enjoy a firepit evening before we leave on Saturday. Weather forecast is not promising.
