It's curtains for the blinds.
Surfside RV Resort, Parksville BC (2 stars)
We enjoyed wonderful sunshine in the lawn chairs behind the Schooner today. Even Hobbes slept for some time in his own chair.
We finalized plans for the new Schooner curtains today. Lez will make the curtains and Lee will make the new valances. This will be a great perk-up for the Schooner and allow us to finally get rid of those high maintenance blinds. Lee has restrung his last RV blind. Hurray.
What an exciting evening! We watched the Oceanside Generals defeat the Comox Glacier Kings in the seventh game to win the series and advance to the next round. It sounds corny when you come from a place that has Rogers Place, but it was pretty exciting for over 700 fans tonight.
Lez's mid arm quilting machine is humming. I now have one long standing unfinished quilt ready for the finishing binding. Now only 3 quilts pinned for quilting, and it feels good to have one done.
We discussed the curtains that will replace the blinds - so I will be making them as soon as the quilts are quilted and the mid-arm machine is tucked out of the way to set up the regular sewing machine.
The cameras have not been "clicking" over the past couple of days, as we have not wandered far on any trails or Mother Nature adventures. We have harvested a few photos from other days, as the actual day is not important, and there are some days with far too many photos to share.
The Generals game was a great win and fans were loud and proud. Refereeing was quite questionable, and it was no surprise when the players got a little our of hand with their skirmishes. Now both my fave teams are moving on to the next round of playoffs.
I have been wearing my Oil Kings Teddy Bear Toss jersey - why not! I say "Show your colours!" Well - there were a handful of Oceanside Generals jerseys in the crowd tonight - hopefully more will start showing up.
