Whitecaps abound.
Surfside RV Resort, Parksville BC (2 stars)
We rarely hear the surf on the Salish Sea, but this morning was an exception. The pounding surf was quite loud, aided by a very strong north wind. That wind made it cold enough that we drove for groceries rather than walking up.
Early afternoon provided us with yet another fantastic Edmonton Oil Kings win, this time over the CHL's top rated team, the Winnipeg Ice. The Ice scored two in the first and the Oil Kings came back in the second with five straight. They are an impressive team to watch.
Lez burps: Dinner and a movie. LOL . We awoke today to a rocking Schooner - the north winds whipping at the northwest corner of the unit. No kites today. Actually so very few people all bundled up as if we were at the North Pole. Looking out the kitchen table nook, the white caps in the Parksville Bay were indistinguishable from each other. When I poked my head outside, the ocean was incredibly unusually loud. Rows of white rolling wave lines were coming in to the flats at low tide. I HAD to grab the camera and check out the Sea Wall. The wind walking up to the pathway felt like gale force. The sun was bright adding to a striking contrast of the white wave crests and the deep dark blue waters.
Hobbes spent very little time outside today - and spent most of the day on the quilt I am making. Good thing it is for me, as it is quite covered in cat fur now. I spent a good portion of my day choosing the kite photos to share in the blog and keep. The Oil Kings game in the background was the perfect ambience.
Late afternoon we decided on a cheese fondue, prepped it up (cut the cheese and bread) LOL and Lee found us a good schmaltzy movie to accompany dinner. I am back at the computer - catching up on the blog and listening to the 24 Hours of LeMans and then a Porsche auto race Rennsport in 2015 on TV in the background - love the sound of a Porsche engine at race speeds.
