Blue herons for breakfast.
Surfside RV Resort, Parksville BC (2 stars)
Lee took Hobbes out before breakfast and noticed there was a Blue Heron right across the channel. He managed to get a couple of great shots.
Lez wonders what day it is: It is so easy to lose track of time - and keeping the blog has been a great reminder of what, when and where. So - Saturday. It is a long weekend with Monday being Family Day for most of the country. No different for us! It's always a long weekend now. Love this retirement travelling. Looking forward to a junior hockey game tonight. Go Oceanside Generals!
We lost our game tonight - but were truly out played. On a happier front - the Oil Kings, which we can watch later won their game 9-1! When we got home (back to the Schooner), the moon was rising - and was lighting up the skies above and beyond Shelly Park. By the time I grabbed the camera, the effect was gone - it actually rises pretty fast. As I was just looking at the skies, a meteorite came into view, curved down and out before getting anywhere near earth.
I spent the rest of the evening going through old photographs of my cousin Bette Erwin, mom's sister's daughter. Bette recently passed away and her daughter Lori is planning a memory book of her mom. What a trip down memory lane.
