Lantzville libations.
Map - Parksville to Nanaimo, Lantzville and backSurfside RV Resort, Parksville BC (2 stars)
Time to take a hop into the big city, aka, Nanaimo. The usual here: Gas Bar, Superstore, Fabricland (yes, it's normal) and lunch. Lez suggested we go the Lantzville Village Pub where she and mom had been a few times. It's a nice place that was first opened in 1925. We then travelled home, lazily, through Lantzville seeing the nice homes and taking some ocean shots.
Lez notes: We're off to see the city! Shopping LOL. I tried very hard to limit the purchase of fabric today, but have enough to work on a smaller pink quilt.
On the way home we drove along the shores of the Nanoose Harbour. The Ballenas-Winchelsea Archipelago is home to several hundred Sea Lions, very noisy at this time of year. There is a lot of history to the isands, the lighthouse and a weather station.
I spent a few hours Google-ing the the whole area, including the Ballenas Lighthouse completed in 1900, and subsequently updated, moved and is still operational. The next run through Lanzville on a sunny day will definitely include the longer telescopic lens for a closer look.
