The estuary tries to settle down.
Surfside RV Resort, Parksville BC (2 stars)
Lee notes that when you disturb soil you generally create a mess. You know, walk through the mud and your mom chastises you for dirtying up the porch floor. Well, the estuary is no different. The excavator moves soil from the berms into the side of the water. Now the water in our part of the estuary is filled with, er, yucky stuff. The birds seem to love it, but it will take some time for it all to clear away.
The excavator is parked at the office end of the water channel that we look out on. Their work is done now - what an intense week for them. The land will smooth out, settle and be re-vegitated over the next few months - Mother Earth healing. The geese, ducks and deer are already returning to the estuary, now very quiet. Bonus (maybe), the geese are eating the plant life along our side of the estuary - wondering how long before there is a "meeting" of sorts between the geese and the local pets.
Meanwhile, I am working on a quilt for me! I started the blocks last summer out at Port Ordze (Aug '21), setting up the sewing table outside, in the shade of the RV. Warm days. Over the winter here in Surfside, the blocks have been sewn around some wolf fabric panels. Now doing the quilting on the mid-arm.
Another quiet evening watching the made-for-TV Hallmark movies.
