Sanding in the sunshine.
Surfside RV Resort, Parksville BC (2 stars)
Lee says - Yup, sunshine. He was able to spend a little time in the sunshine sanding down a towel rack for the Schooner.
Even Hobbes seemed to enjoy it as he did not immediately come racing back to the top of the steps, begging to be let in.
Later in the evening, Lee enjoyed some movie time with Lez and then poked around a new web site dedicated to Rotterdam. One of the surprises was a link to the City of Rotterdam Archives, where he found the passenger list for the Waterman, dated July 16, 1959. And on it, Lee's dad Pieter Zwaal.
Lez is blinded: LOL - what is that yellow orb Again no wind, and I opened windows, let fresh air in, did a two washer loads of laundry. Our main floor slide out windows needed a good cleaning, including taking out the screens and clearing out white mould from the surfaces. It is one of the drawbacks of a propane heated RV in a very damp environment. Still working on the PowerPoint presentation, but did get out in the afternoon for a few photos of the estuary, the bird life and the Seawall views - all touched by the golden colours of a setting sun. Evenings are getting longer.
