OK, I still use inches instead of centimeters.

Lee spent a good portion of today designing the alterations to the fireplace cavity so the new fireplace would fit in there. Thank you Excel and my imperial tape measure; I still don't use metric in these cases.
Then it was off to the store to pick up wood, glue and stain.
Lez notes: We have an on-going laugh at our respective measuring tapes. Lee has the carpenter metal one that is straight and true. I use the fabric floppy kind. Each has their purpose - as mine is able to measure round objects' circumferences, whereas his metal one can easily disappear inside the metal case when the tip stopper breaks off. LOL. Fortunately not today, but it has happened! I find it interesting - his Mr. Fixit capabilities are very similar to my sewing techniques. Just different products.
