Hornswogeled.
Surfside RV Resort, Parksville BC (2 stars)
Lee walks the area with Lez and our cameras. It's fairly cold with the north wind, but not like Edmonton. But, this is not the warm, sunny Parksville we had last year. An unusually cold December, perhaps the second coldest/snowy on record.
We've been having fun with Ron and Cami, our neighbours. We're pretending they invited us out here to get away from the cold and enjoy the mild surroundings. 'Come to Parksville they said, enjoy the balmy weather and sunshine all day long'. We've been hornswogeled! All in jest of course.
Lez notes: Moody skies - there are some spectacular pictures than must be taken. We wandered to the laundry clubhouse close to us, but the snow was just a little deep along the sea wall, so we just took lots of photos from that point. Lots more photos of the estuary as Trumpeter Swans have flown in. I don't recall ever seeing them in the wild - so, yes the camera tried to get some pictures, but the swans were just a little too far out to get any good pics. The broken clouds allowed a strong blue sky to show through and that netted some very interesting reflections on the estuary waters. It is chilly but we are very comfortable in the Schooner.
