Fondue and a hockey game.
Surfside RV Resort, Parksville BC (2 stars)
Lee says this was an OK day, despite the rain for most of the day. We are nice and cozy. We watched the Oil Kings while enjoying a traditional Zwaal famiy fondue. And a nice Tannat to wash it down with too.
Lez quips: An OK day huh. Well Happy 71 to the best man ever. We did have a quiet day. I kept busy with a quilt project to make an wall hanging for Christmas. Tomorrow the mid-arm quilting machine will be set up and it will be quilted, along with a larger quilt for me to wrap up in while watching the hockey games - it is cool in here in the evenings, and a little extra quilt is always a good thing to have. Lee and I used to set up a fondue pot in front of the TV - before children - on a Friday or Saturday night in the new - it was new big house. We continued the TV watching tradition after the boys came along, and we eventually moved the fondue dinner to the dining room table. So started a weekly family dinner tradition that lasted until we sold the house to head out on this adventure. So many wonderful memories, so many people joined us during those years.
We continue our tradition with family and friends, just not as frequently nor in the same numbers as before. The best part of dinner with friends are the stories and laughter that continue.
