Old sour puss, er, pumpkin puss.
Surfside RV Resort, Parksville BC (2 stars)
Lee thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful day on the estuary. His coat was off before noon as he finished off the slide cover work. It went quicker than usual because he had an operating nurse in the surgery room, that is, he had Lez handing him tools and fasteners as he balanced himself on the fence next to the Schooner.
All done, and just in time. Rain comes again later tomorrow.
Our pumpkins look great; Lez did a great job. Lee tried to have Hobbes pose with his cat pumpkin, but he was not the least bit interested.
Lez is disappointed. we did set the alarm for 3 a.m., peeked out the window - no Northern Lights! So we snuggled back in bed.
It was an outdoor day today - weather was clear skies, sun was warm. Shaded areas were cool. I went for quite a walkabout along the estuary, and then along some of the Sea wall. I took more photos of local birdlife, and of the estuary. A litttle brown bird needs to be identified. Hobbes and I also did walks along the estuary. He is enjoying no trailering leash, but still is in his harness.
Back at the RV, Lee was busy with the finishing touches on the slide covers so they don't sag with the rain. Later on I tried to help by being on the tall ladder - but just am not comfortable any more that far off the ground on a ladder. Lee did the balancing act and I handed the tools and pieces needed for him to install the press fasteners.
I carved a second pumpkin today - looking forward to munching on more salted pumpkin seeds. This one was carved to represent a cat - Hobbes was not impressed.
Our sunset tonight is stunningly orange behind the mountain range that is behind Parksville. The seas are very calm and reflect the waters in an outgoing high tide. This area just calls out for more photos.
