Thunder and lightning.
Surfside RV Resort, Parksville BC (2 stars)
The Schooner was rocking today, with the winds from the south and east brought on by what the newscasts say is a 'weather bomb'. It will continue for a day or two so we are hunkered down.
The velcro fastening system on our slide covers is starting to worry Lee. A decision is made to upgrade to dome fasteners once the weather clears. As a precaution to the high winds, we tie a rope around the two largest slides in hopes the winds cannot rip the slide cover off.
At one point we saw a single flash of lightning and heard a single roll of thunder. That is very rare on this part of the island.
Lez is busy editing photos instead of quilting: Many of those pictures we take are in need of a little attention. We are naming those we wish to keep, and then editing to clean up smudges and spots. The cameras need cleaning! A walk to the Boardwalk between the rain storms added another 20 pictures to the portfolio. That break in the weather also allowed Lee to ensure the slide out covers would stand a chance against the impending night storm.
I did take time to do some organizing of a couple of bags of fabric - pulling out quilt squares that are left over from other projects. Thoughts on what to do with them are now percolating. It's not yet midnight - perhaps I'll set up the sewing machine ready for tomorrow.
