Rainbow over the Salish Sea.
Surfside RV Resort, Parksville BC (2 stars)
We ventured out on the Surfside spit for the first time this leg of our travels. Many of the logs have moved from where they were in the spring. And, some new logs provided some interesting photographic possibilities.
Lee ventured out for some supplies and to find a repair shop for the RV stereo unit. No such luck. After a couple of places, he gave up. At home, he found a suitable new unit online and we ordered it.
Lez is over bundled up: The sound of the wind, and the threat of rain made me decide on the ski jacket and thick gloves but surprisingly, the 11C weather was comfortable. We took our time poking around the Surfside spit, and found some very interesting weather worn patterns in the logs. The shores around the spit are covered in incredibly coloured leaves. Photo time for sure!
We packed up the the quilt top to show mom, packed a bottle of wine to add to dinner, and packed up Lee's laptop to be able to live stream the Oil Kings hockey game on mom's TV. It worked great. Mom made roast beef AND Yorkshire Pudding for dinner - super delicious! She hadn't made it for many years, and it tasted like it always did "at home". It was good to see Ralph, and real hugs just are the best! As soon as this rainy season decides to give us a sunny day like we had briefly today - we will be snagging bro' and heading for a stroll and roll along the Boardwalk!
