Anne attended the one room Whiska Creek School which was located one half mile south and one mile west of the homestead She then obtained her teacher's certificate in Moose Jaw. She taught on the bench south of Maple Creek before taking a teaching position north of Regina.

The Whiska School was moved into Pambrun in later years. After Murdoch and his wife retired, the new owners did not use the farmstead. Eventually, all evidence of buildings was lost.
