Middle Beach memories.
Bella Pacifica RV Park, Tofino BC (1 star)
Lee notes that Hobbes wants to go out first thing after we wake up in the morning. His intent is to climb down to the bottom step, the turn around and go back in for treats. Lee has other ideas. This morning, he picked Hobbes up and carried him out all the way to the beach and set him down. Hobbes was actually disinterested.
We wandered the MacKenzie Beach again today, but at low tide. Lez had her rubber boots on, so she ventured a wee bit into the surf.
Near the north end of MacKenzie Beach is the Middle Beach Lodge and Resort. We stayed there a number of times during January and February of years ago, hoping to see some winter storms. What we usually got was sunshine. It was interesting to see the balcony on which we sat in those times, but now looking at it from the beach.
Considering that Hobbes spent most of his years in a stationary house, with a buddy or two other cats, ours and neighbours, he has adjusted to this new life style very well. He does not like riding in the pickup - so he stays in the RV even as we travel, comfortable with his basket or our bed. When we park, and come to the door to go inside the RV, he is at the door waiting for us. Then he gets some treats.
Hobbes has gotten used to the harness when we take him outside - a safety for him - although he does not appreciate it. Should he bolt in fright we would never catch him. So we (mostly Lee) will take him for a walkabout amid comments from other campers marvelling at a cat in a harness being walked like a dog. When he gets back - seems to know the way back and knows he will get some treats. He's no dummy!
I'm thinking tomorrow I may have to do the surf in bare feet! LOLOL I wonder if Hobbes will join me LOLOL.
Tonight Lee put together his famous pizza - from scratch - crust made from the dough prepared in the breadmaker, and then adding his own special secret sauce. Today's toppings lots of cheese, pineapple and beerstick sausage slices.
