Lee went in for the last time to the Elections office. By 2 p,m, all that was left was a pile of collapsed boxes (which he took with him for recycling) and all those filled boxes ready for shipment to Ottawa. He said his goodbyes and that was that.
We had time before having dinner at Fendalls, so we walked the trail at Whitemud Creek. The colours were spectacular and we saw chipmunks, 13 striped gophers, chickadees and heard many others.
We finished the day at Fendalls for some reminiscing and debating. A good time.
Lez delivered pears: Yes, our bucket of pears has been pared down. LOL - couldn't resist. A few of the Macarena were interested in receiving some pears - and it was a great chit-chat at the same time. I poked around, picked up groceries and a sushi nibble to add to lunch too.
After getting lost in the maze of streets and having forgotten the actual address of the elections office, I finally phoned Lee to get the right directions. I obviously slept every morning we drove to the office!
We said our last farewells to the few remaining people in the office and headed for the Whitemud Park in our North Saskatchewan River valley. We ate the late lunch and then had a great 4 km walk in the sunny afternoon. The cameras were smokin' again. It felt so good!
We had a delicious lasagna dinner with Fendalls and shared our dessert of pear cobbler. As always with them, lively conversations made the evening fly by.
