Lee sees how his sons have been influenced by Lego. In their own way, they are architects, organizers, planners, builders and very logical men. Seeing the tall building display at the Saskatchewan Science Centre shows him that. On several of the tall building creations, they document how the builder took certain pieces from somewhere to build a certain shape. He remembers his sons saying on more than one occasion - well, we took those pieces from that set in order to build the whatever on our new display. And that includes motorizing a model car by inserting a motor from a Remote Control (RC) car. Amazing.
Rick Gaucher and Lee worked together at SaskTel in the 70's. They shared a love of hockey, albeit different teams. And there we were, almost 50 years later, talking hockey and the early days of computing. It was great!
Lez spashes her face with cold wake-me-up water! We had set the alarm at 7:00! What were we thinking There is only one 7 o'clock in our world - later in the day. We have tickets to see the 10 Tallest Buildings in the World at the Science centre. They are made of Lego. Yes, we are as hooked on Lego as our boys. What a display! I am hoping that Edmonton's Space and Science Centre will book the display.
We then headed to have lunch with long-standing friends Rick and Evelyn Gaucher. Lee met Rick back in the '70's after university graduation. We enjoyed the backyard, sunshine, good food and lots of laughter. It was suddenly 6:30 PM! The afternoon had just flown by and we were still ready to talk more. We moved out of the wrath of mosquito and re-settled inside, tested more wine, ordered pizza and it was dark out by the time we left. The longest day is in 3 days - yes it was late. We left with books in hand referencing places we plan to visit this coming week - looking forward to more new adventures.
