Hobbes impresses the Latvian tourists.

Hobbes says - so dad took me outside at lunch today. We were parked along side the Icefields Parkway. There were a whole bunch of people from Latvia admiring the mountains and some of them had seen me sitting by the screen door of the Schooner. As I got out in dad's arms there was a chorus of oohs and awws and my picture was being taken repeatedly. And they all wanted to rub the top of my head and read the tag on my collar. I just lay there in dad's arms and took it all in.
Lee has seen it so many times. Hobbes is the photogenic celebrity, and we are just his servants. But it was nice to say hello to some Latvians here for a vacation. Later on we moored in a dry camping site at Thompson Creek Campground on Highway 11 just east of Saskatchewan Crossing. We met some neighbors who are visiting from England (Stonehenge to be exact). We had a nice conversation and determined we might see them again in Lake Louise or Canmore. James and Ros, travelling with Pete and Sue.
We finished the evening with coffee and cinnamon buns in the total darkness (and stillness) around our fire bowl. The stars were out in force.
OMG - it was like watching a Hollywood Movie and the star comes on! Hobbes was at the screen door looking out, as we were parked to have lunch. A busload of visitors from Latvia were also stopped - and someone noticed him and wandered over. I stayed at the kitchen table and heard the ladies, and when Lee went over and picked him up and took him outside - it was just as Lee noted - a chorus of at least a dozen or more admirers. Hobbes was so laid back about the whole thing! Like an age old movie star!
