Memories of wood cutting.
Map - Rocky Mountain House to WarburgWarburg Municipal Campground, Warburg, AB (2 stars)
Lee convinced Lez to cut the drive from Rocky Mountain House to Edmonton in half and go to Warburg this day. This was a quiet and smooth ride up Highway 22 and over.
Just south of the junction of Highways 22 and 53 we stopped for a moment to take a photo of the road leading to the last cutting area where we harvested birch fire wood for about the last five seasons. It brought back memories of good times with our sons Aaron and Alec, of Gramps, Lez's dad who came with us each fall for almost 30 years and memories of Rocky, the cat we found at this location one fall.
Today was sweltering hot! And I am glad our travels were only as far as Warburg. We are in a comfortable campground with 50AMP power - so yes - the A/C was running. When Hobbes wanted to go out, he basically wanted to lay in the cooler shade underneath the RV.
Lee went out with our laundry - took one for the team in a hot space on a hot day. We were coming to the end of clean underwear LOL - it was due. Feels good to have clean sheets, towels etc. All 3 of us tested the clean sheets and napped the hottest part of the day in the comfort of the A/C.
The sun has set and a cool breeze is coming in the screen door. Updating the blog, uploading photos, catching up on Facebook and email. Time now for coffee and a movie. It's becoming a great way to end our days. Oh and caramel pudding treat tonight.
