A hawk drops from the sky.
Surfside RV Resort, Parksville BC (2 stars)
Aaron had reason to send us some scanned mail, at which time he referred to Chuck and the Schooner as the Jalopy and Land Yacht. We could hear Chuck muttering outside, something about flattening Aaron's Jetta when Chuck returns to Edmonton. All in good fun.
Late in the evening we were watching a movie when we heard a series of loud thuds on the roof near the back window. Lee went out to check it out and found nothing unusual. He decided to check the roof and discovered a dead hawk with its head missing. This was likely an eagle prey that it accidentally dropped during flight in the dark.
Coffee date with quilter friend Chris, and as always no lack for conversation. It was still too cool for us to sit outside, but the atmosphere inside is always warm and filled with others enjoying the coffee and goodies they sell. We have been to a couple of quilting retreats, and have several mutual quilter friends. There are the usual share of stories of what we did over the week, rarely discussing any quilting projects.
As Lee notes, later we were deep into the movie when there was almost a 3-D or sense-surround effect with the noise that suddenly hit the RV roof.
Eagle trumps Hawk.
