Yes, we got home today. We flew to Vancouver, took the Skytrain two stops, caught a bus to the Tsawwassen ferry terminal, sailed to Nanaimo, taxied to the airport and drove our Chuck the truck home. A quick stop for groceries, then at mom's to pick up our laptops, picked up a pizza and we were soon settled and ready for a nice sleep at home.

The classic "planes, trains and automobiles" trip back to Canada from a SUPER SUPER time in Kona-Kailua, Hawaii. I'm thinking if it wasn't so far from the kids, I'd live here in a heartbeat. I realize that this is so much warmer than a day temp of -18C and tonight -29C in Edmonton. However, family trumps weather. I am missing them and also our friends.
