Home sweet home.
Mimi and Alec's home, Edmonton AB (2 stars)
The morning sky looked considerably nicer this morning than last night. It was even possible to make out some of the mountain slopes across the valley from the Crossings Hotel.
I headed out on Highway 11, the David Thompson Highway to make my way back to Edmonton. Not long after leaving the crossing, it started to rain considerably. And then it turned to snow as my dashboard showed an outside temperature of -0.5c. As I came into Rocky Mountain House two hours later, the sun was shining. Time enough to pick up a drink and continue the journey.
I was barely out of Rocky heading north on HIghway 22, the Cowboy Trail, when it started to rain again. This continued on and off untill I reached Edmonton.
This brings to an end my journey to visit friends and family on Vancouver Island and the Fraser Valley. My attention now turns to Alec and Mimi's upcoming new house, to my trip to Saskatchewan to spread Lez's ashes and have a celebration of her life in Regina.
Before you know it, I will be living in a new suite in Mimi and Alec's new house. And not long after, hockey season starts again.
