The firebowl makes an appearance.
Bella Pacifica RV Park, Tofino BC (1 star)
We whipped into Tofino for some groceries this afternoon. Lee says whipped because it takes under ten minutes to be in 'downtown' Tofino, or Tuff as the locals call it. We can tell it is still off-season because it is very quiet and we can park right outside the stores we wanted to visit.
Heaven help us trying to park a vehicle here in July, Lee thinks.
What is that golden orb in the sky! Sunshine! We have clear blue skies! A quick trip into Tofino, post office (a wine delivery) and a few groceries and the camera wasted no time to get a few photos of MacKenzie Beach. We also went part way down the stairs to the beach as the sun moved to the horizon. Yes, the beach is quite a ways below where the campground is, and there are also spots back from the high tide level at the oceanside for smaller camping units. After Lee's signature pasta dinner, we wandered to the stairs for another trip for photos as sunset approached. We settled in for a first for this season - the Fire Bowl ! Instead of burning wood (which is pretty wet at the moment), we hook up the fire bowl to a small propane tank and have instant warmth, annd light which even Hobbes joined us to sit around. He stayed in Lee's lap, but I'm sure the next firepit we will bring out his lawnchair and as in the past he will curl up in it and watch the mesmerizing flames, just like we do!
The campground had more units coming in, and looks almost full. A peaceful evening after a good day.
